Christians and Muslims in Public Life Workshop

Friday 20th March 2020 10.00 - 4.30

  • Concerned about Christians who are being persecuted?

  • Want to maintain good relations with your Muslim neighbours?

  • Committed to accurate reporting?

  • Experienced or involved in the media or communications?

Join us in this working workshop for Christians and help us to produce a report, position papers and best practice that will make a difference. Following on from the Pew Forum’s 2018 survey data on Christian attitudes towards Muslims,  the Bishop of Truro’s 2019 Independent Review for the British FCO and the forthcoming Institute of Commonwealth Studies’ conference on Religion, Media Freedom and the Commonwealth (10th March), our workshop will be a round table discussion for Christians, with Christian and Muslim speakers.

Speakers:

  • Julia Bicknell – Director, World Watch Monitor; former BBC presenter/reporter/producer

  • Dr Iqtidar Cheema – UN Advisory Board on Genocide and Atrocity Crimes; Director, Institute of Leadership & Community Development

  • Revd Dr Nadim Nassar - Executive Director, The Awareness Foundation
