Christian Responses to Islam in Britain (CRIB)
What is CRIB?
CRIB stands for Christian Responses to Islam in Britain, so there are always diverse views and approaches presented at CRIB events.
The network does not promote any one approach to working with Muslims. Neither does it exclude organisations or people due to their approaches, provided their views and beliefs are broadly in agreement with orthodox Christian beliefs.
Rather, CRIB is a space in which evangelical Christians with different approaches and emphases can meet together to talk, listen, learn and share and it provides an opportunity for interaction that might not take place anywhere else.
conferences
Prior to the pandemic, the CRIB conference took place biannually as a residential weekend conference. However, since the lockdown there have been online or hybrid conferences mixing regional gatherings with national streaming.
Consequently, the resources, workshops and views do not represent a “CRIB position” and are not necessarily condoned or supported by CRIB. Neither are they the views of the Solomon Academic Trust, which facilitates the work of CRIB. They are solely the views and ideas of the presenters and are offered as a record of what was shared at the CRIB conferences in order to inform discussion, encourage synergy and stimulate deeper thought.
Previous conferences
-
CRIB 2023 took place as a hybrid event across four venues - London, Bradford, Bristol and Stirling. Local workshops and discussions in each venue were interspersed with three plenaries streamed across the venues via Zoom.
-
The conferences in 2021 and 2022 continued the 2019 theme by considering how we can ‘Remove the Logjam’.
-
‘From a Trickle to a Stream to a Flood’
Do we have faith to believe that large numbers of Muslims will turn to Christ in this country as is beginning to happen in other parts of the world, including in Europe?
Workshops and case studies will explore some of the possible future scenarios if we see such a turning. What are the implications for churches and the way that they welcome and care for people? What lessons are we already learning?
Along with all the normal resources and networking opportunities, there will be a strong theme of prayer as we cry out to God to be at work in and through His church.
How to get in touch with CRIB
