Action & impact: October update

During this Autumn term we’re taking the opportunity to look at our four mission goals and how your giving equips the vital work of Mahabba.

This month, we see how you are supporting Mahabba in Enabling all Christians: Mobilising ‘everyday’ Christians to see opportunities, grow in confidence, build friendships and share Jesus with Muslims.

One of our local Mahabba groups has recently taken the opportunity to do the Friendship First course online. Friendship First is a fantastic course that enables Christians to approach their Muslim friends with confidence by equipping them with the skill and resources needed to be an effective witness to Jesus Christ.

“We have just finished the Friendship First course on Zoom! Brilliant attendance and good  feedback. Doing it in a time of Lockdown was obviously making use of space people don't  usually have in their diaries. Praise God for Lockdown and Technology!”

We look forward to hearing how the Friendship First course has impacted this group as they build and deepen their friendships with Muslims in their neighbourhoods.

Core ethos and impact

Enabling all Christians is part of Mahabba’s core ethos that Churches and ‘everyday’ Christians grow in awareness, overcome fears and are equipped to love Muslims in all spheres of society.

Mahabba acts as a central network of advice, resource, support, training, fuel for prayer and guidance on the use of tools for initial interaction with Muslims. We do this by enabling Christians to:

  • Engage with Muslims through courses like Prophets’ Stories and the Friendship First Course

  • Share a systematic presentation of the gospel through partner training such as Al Massira

  • Create culturally inclusive fellowship through resources like Joining the Family

  • Spiritually nurture those new to faith using courses like Come Follow Me

TEN WAYS TO MAKE TEN FRIENDS

In our Network Update this month we’ve highlighted another new recommended resource. Ten Ways to Make Ten Friends is a guide for taking small but strategic steps in everyday life to get to know those from hard to reach countries living in our neighbourhoods. This resource encourages us not to wait until this crisis time is over.

Find out more about Ten Ways, and our other training, by visiting our Resources page

Your giving enables Mahabba to continue the vital work of equipping Christians.

Donating just £10 a month can resource Christians to utilise one of the training courses mentioned above.

Why not donate to us today or share this blog and invite someone you know to be part of Mahabba’s impact?
