Action & Impact: May update
Ramadan is the most significant month in the Muslim calendar and a significant month for Mahabba as we seek to resource Christians to pray and reach out to their Muslim neighbours.
After many months of lockdown it was great to be able to connect again and having online gatherings for prayer enabled us to bring together more people across the Network.
On average about sixty people gathered on the four Friday evenings of the month of fasting. We heard from twelve Mahabba groups from all parts of the UK during these times. It was inspiring to hear about the different groups’ activities and to pray for their work.
On the Night of Power, about two hundred people gathered on Zoom. There were four areas that were prayed into. We heard an inspiring testimony from AJ on how he encountered Jesus in a vision; an encouraging report on the fruitful work among Iranians; fresh vision from Bruce on a new Mahabba initiative to offer coaching to churches in sharing their faith; and a fresh initiative to pray for Millennials.
Alongside our social media presence and resourcing, it was an inspiring month of prayer that strengthened us as a Network.
We can now look forward to the opportunities the summer presents, with various Network events being held as well as the local connections with Muslims that we hope to have as things open up.
